What a connection request needs

Most useful connection requests have three parts: a real reason for reaching out, a specific point of relevance and a low-pressure close.

Example framework

Use this structure: ‘Hi [First name], I noticed [relevant context]. I’m connecting because [specific reason]. Open to connecting?’ Replace the brackets with real context from your targeting, not assumptions.

Avoid the common mistakes

Do not use an unrelated compliment, a long list of benefits or an immediate meeting request. A connection request is a first step, not the entire campaign.

Use the workflow to stay consistent

Once the request is approved, place it in a campaign with the appropriate next step. Innlead helps manage the sequence, but the message and audience should remain intentional.
